It’s bad, but not that bad

Jamie Bowler
The last few days have been filled with interesting news. Kerry Katona doing a ‘George Best’ on morning TV, Beckham to top up his bank balance and wardrobe with a move to Milan, and the ongoing stock market crash sending the world into economic depression.
I caught part of Paul Merton’s new TV show last night, this gives an account of his experiences travelling around India. He focused on a child refuge centre and crèche in Kolkata. The kids live in extreme poverty, their parents are involved in drugs and prostitution. The kids childhood and innocence taken away. This doesn’t mean that I am going to go on a personal crusade raising money on the busiest streets in London, however it does put things into perspective, it is so easy to become blinkered and forget the things that actually matter.
